Ronald A. McNamara

1936 – 2022

Ronald A. McNamara, 86, of South Dayton, N.Y., entered into rest Aug. 31, 2022

He was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Villenova, N.Y., to the late Clayton and Lois (Houck) McNamara.

Ronald graduated from Pine Valley Central schools and then went on to work on the family farm. He also worked for Thorpe and Mann Feed Mill, drove cattle truck and was a driver for the CARTS Bus.

Ronald married Katherine (Kitty) Montague on Oct. 8, 1955.

He was an avid hunter, liked to tell stories and was a true family man.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Katherine (Kitty); his cherished children: Susan (Nate) Palmer, Sharon (Benny) Bottita, Sandra (Al) Forbes and Sheila (Joel) Fiebrlkorn; his grandchildren: Angie, Tony, Lisa, Alex, Andrew, Troy, Crystal, Jessica, Melissa; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Glenn and Leon.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home Inc. 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y., Tuesday Sept. 6, 2022, from 11a.m. to 1p.m., where a service will immediately follow.

Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Ronald’s name to the South Dayton Volunteer Fire Company.
