Ronald Allen Johnson

On Sept. 20, 2022, Ronald Allen Johnson of Brocton, went to be with our heavenly father, he passed away at Hamot Hospital in Erie.

He was born in Olean, N.Y., on April 10, 1937. Ron attended Cassadaga Valley High School. He spent over 45 years as a truck driver and running his recycling yard. He loved going to auctions, estate sales, to weld, build and create things, watching NFL, NASCAR and Fox News, he had an infectious laughter and easy smile, Ron had an incredible sense of humor and he always enjoyed having a cold beer with family and friends. He loved traveling with his two cats and Pauline in their motorhome as they toured the country, they spent 11 years wintering in Mesa, Ariz., and two years in Zephyrhills, Fla. He traveled throughout the United States and visited every state except for Washington and Oregon. He was blessed to have many friends throughout his life, he was a happy gentle soul and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was member of the former Brocton Masonic Lodge, a retired volunteer firemen and a member of the Brocton American Legion.

Ron married Pauline McCloskey of Brocton, on Sept. 21, 1957, he passed the day before their 65th wedding anniversary.

Ron is survived by his wife, Pauline; daughter, Valerie Lindholm and son-in-law, Craig Lindholm of Carlsbad, Calif.. and their beloved son, Ronnie passed away on Jan. 17, 1991. He has two grandchildren: Jon and Amanda (Luko) Lindholm and Erin Lindholm and husband, Brad Gural; two great-grandchildren: Emma, 5 and Luke 3 months.

Ronald was the son of the late Neil and Gertrude Johnson of Stockton, N.Y. His two older brothers passed away last year, Jim Johnson of Stockton, and Leon Johnson of Mayville.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Sisson of Gerry.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Brocton American Legion at noon.
