Anthony V. Hoppa

Devoted husband of Carolyn for nearly 67 years; loving father of Bill (Katy) Hoppa; Jim (Diana) Hoppa; Betsy (Bobbie) Walker; and Tony (Jill) Hoppa; proud grandfather of Jennifer (Samir) Bootwala, Carrie (Curt) Moseley, Callie Walker, Michael Hoppa, Christopher Hoppa, Jake Hoppa and Jerry Hoppa; great-grandpa to Nate and Mia Moseley.

Dear brother of Eleanor (late Henry) Was and Mary (late Edward) Szatkowski. Preceded in death by three sisters and one brother; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tony taught industrial arts for 34 years at Gowanda Central School as well as summer driver education in Gowanda and surrounding communities.

A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he was a life member and past commander of the Gowanda American Legion.

Arrangements are by the Schindler Funeral Home in Gowanda.

A Memorial Mass with full military honors will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph’s RC Church on East Main Street in Gowanda with burial to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Gowanda.
