Magdalena S. Hazelton

Magdalena (Maggie-Cielo) Hazelton, 52, of Dunkirk, NY, formerly of Brocton, NY, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023. In her final days, she was well cared for by the staff at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Magdalena was born on July 4, 1970 to Jacob Garcia and the late Helen J. Dloniak Rivera. She attended Dunkirk High School.

She was married to Wayne Hazelton who passed away in 2019. Magdalena loved her family, softball and her dog, “Phil”. She enjoyed attending her son, Sebastian’s softball games and always cheered for both teams. She loved attending family gatherings and playing with the children during those visits. She was known for babysitting and caring for all her nieces, nephews and kids in the neighborhood.

She is survived by her father, Jacob Garcia of Puerto Rico, her son, Sebastian Hazelton, her sister, Aloisia (Wally) Welka of CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Magdalena was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hazelton, her mother, Helen J. Dloniak Rivera, her brothers, Victor Manuel Rivera, Jr. and John Paul Rivera, and 3 sisters, Jane Solares, Patricia Rivera, and Hortensia Hunt.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for Family and close friends.
