Anthony (“Red”, “Tony”) Cristina
Anthony (“Red”, “Tony”) Cristina, age 85, formerly of Fredonia, NY, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023, surrounded by his Family. He had been a resident at Beechwood Homes in Getzville, NY.
Tony was an exceptional bricklayer. His creations of brick and mortar will live on as his legacy. Tony’s father taught him the art of bricklaying after he graduated from Fredonia High School and he worked well into his 70’s. Tony’s customers knew that the brickwork Tony created would be enjoyed for generations. Tony wanted to be remembered, “As someone who always tried his best”.
Tony joins his entire family, his father, Joseph Cristina, his mother, Lucy (Frederico) Cristina, and his brothers, James and Joseph.
He is survived by five nieces, a nephew, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews, who will all miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church in Fredonia, NY on Thursday, March 30, 2023 and may call at the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Donations, in Tony’s memory, may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St Anthony’s in Fredonia.
