Jean Leslie Lutz (nee Grimes)
Jean Leslie Lutz (nee Grimes) was born on June 22, 1949 in Ithaca, NY and passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023 in Clarence, NY. She was known for her strength, kindness, and selflessness. A graduate of Fredonia High School and a 1971 graduate of SUNY Oswego with a BA in Education. Jean worked at Joytime Nursery School on Harris Hill and as a bus aide for the Clarence Central School District. Both jobs could afford her time to be primary caregiver for her daughter Elizabeth (Lizzy).
Jean loved craft arts but was most in love with her flower gardening. She shared her many flowers with friends and neighbors.
Jean is survived by her husband Edward J Lutz; her son James C. Lutz of Clarence; her daughter Sarah Sweitzer (Eric) of Lancaster; her nephews John L M Grimes of Lackawanna and Charles A. Grimes of Medina as well as her grandchildren Evelyn and Owen Sweitzer. She is also survived by a wonderful extended family.
Jean was preceded in death by her father John L Grimes; her mother Grace Grimes; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lutz; and her brother John Grimes.
The family would like to thank all the home health aides, medical personnel and therapists who helped make Jean as comfortable as possible throughout the years.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday March 16 between the hours of 4 and 7pm at the Amigone Funeral Home on Main St. near Harris Hill Rd. A service and internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dunkirk will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity in Jean’s name would be grateful.
