Dr. Jacqueline Ann Walsh-Carmona

Dr. Jacqueline Ann Walsh-Carmona, age 60 of Troy, passed away after her battle with pancreatic cancer on April 9, 2023. Loving wife of Frank Carmona for 33 years, loving mother of Erin Carmona and Colin Carmona, sister of Dianne (Doug) Walsh Astry, daughter of the late John and Margaret Walsh. Born and raised in Fredonia, NY, Dr. Walsh moved to Michigan to attend Michigan State University where she received a BS in Physiology and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Her love for animals was present in both her personal and professional life, opening her home to all sorts of critters outside of her pet dogs and turtle.

Aside from veterinary medicine, Jackie enjoyed running, gardening, art, spending time with her family and her Catholic faith. Jackie loved to travel, especially with her family. She had a deep love of the Buffalo Bills and Michigan State Spartans. She served as a volunteer for Beaumont Hospice for over 15 years, trained her therapy dog Wesley for hospital and hospice services and was an active member at St. Anastasia, decorating the church and serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

As seen through her volunteer work and daily interactions with others, Jackie will be remembered for her extraordinarily kind heart, witty sense of humor, and her ability to always put others first. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacqueline’s name may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind or Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
