Emily I. Fisher (nee Hillebert)

Emily I. Fisher (nee Hillebert) age 100, formally of Forestville, NY passed away peacefully at the Chautauqua County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk surrounded by her family on March 30, 2023.

Born in Wesley, NY on January 1, 1923, the daughter of William and Olive (Rich) Hillebert.

Predeceased by Roy Fisher, her loving husband of 63 years. Her son Ronald Fisher in 1980.

Lovingly remembered by her family: daughters – Yvonne (Jerry) Park, Forestville, Wendy (Rob) Frost, Cherry Creek, and son, Don Fisher of Granite Falls, NC. Also, seven grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Emily and her husband spent winters in Texas and Florida, and she was a member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church.

Emily worked as a dietitian aid with the Gowanda Psychiatric Center for 25 years retiring in 1982.

After retirement Emily was also an accomplished seamstress working for Martha's Quilt Barn working on any and all custom orders including quilts, draperies and etc.

Later in life Emily worked with local material donations sewing girls' dresses and boys' shorts to be distributed through the organization Into The World Ministries. Overall, a total of over 3,000 dresses and shorts were sewn.

Lastly, Emily was busy knitting baby hats to be distributed to local hospitals for their new born babies.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Rt. 83, South Dayton, NY 14138 Sunday, April 2, 2023 from Noon to 2 PM a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 PM with her grandson, Greg Park officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Dayton Fire Department 34 Maple Street South Dayton, NY 14138
