Titusville, Pa. — Joseph C . Guzzetta age 96 of Titusville, Pa. formerly of Perrysburg , NY passed away Saturday April 22, at home in Titusville surrounded by family. Joe and Carlyn sold their grape farm on West Perrysburg Rd. ( a farm that has been in the family for over 100 years) to move near their daughter Gail and family in Titusville a few years ago .
Joseph was born in Buffalo, NY November 18, 1926 the son of Charles and Rose ( Carrier) Guzzetta.
A United States Veteran, Joe honorably served his country with the United States Army. He married the former Carlyn Hornemann at the Our lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Brant August 7, 1954.
A grape farmer , he found transitioning into retirement difficult as with most farmers that there are always chores to be done. Moving close to Gail and family certainly helped transition and he enjoyed their home in Titusville.
Joe in his younger years belonged to various clubs and organizations .
Survivors include his wife of nearly 69 years Carlyn (Hornemann) Guzzetta, their children; Ronald (Kimberly) Guzzetta of Howey in the Hills, Fla. , Gail (Stephen) Kriner of Titusville, Pa. and Lori (John) Camp of Cary, NC . Grandchildren ; Ellie Kriner, Carly( Ryan) Northcott, Briana ( Brian) James and John Camp .Great grand daughter ; Berkley Northcott also survives along with many nieces and nephews and a sister in-law Ann Guzzetta of Perrysburg .
Besides his parents Joe was preceded in death by his siblings; Antonette, Louis, Leonard and Gerald Guzzetta.
Friends may call Saturday April 29, 2023 at 11:30 am prior to a 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Joseph’s RC Church East Main St. Gowanda. Interment to follow in the Versailles Cemetery Versailles, NY
Arrangements are by the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda
