Timothy Heavern

He was born March 27, 1949 in Buffalo, the son of the late James and Marion (Frost) Heavern.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971.

A lifelong resident of Western New York, Timothy had been employed as a police officer for the Silver Creek Police Department.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Rossotto) Heavern, whom he married Nov. 20, 1971; one son, Samuel (Melissa) Heavern of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Samantha and Nolan Heavern; one sister, Bonnie (David) Hammond of Geneseo; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sharon George, Donna Fuller, and Kathleen Myers; and one brother, James J. Heavern Jr.

Calling hours will be held today from 4-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 26, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Holly Clark-Porter will officiate. Full military honors will be accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
