June E. Peters

Born in Buffalo April 17, 1925 the daughter of John and Mary ( Rosehart) Ketterl.

June married Ralph M. Peters Sr. in Gowanda June 25, 1946 .

June retired from the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, at the time of her retirement she worked as an accountant in the Business Office . When her health permitted June was an active member of the St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, she also enjoyed reading and served on the board of the Gowanda Free Library.

Besides her parents June was preceded in death by her husband Ralph of 53 years (November 23, 1999) , her children ; Diane Peters Oatman ( January 30,2009) Norman J. Peters (December 30, 2013) and Ralph Jr. “Butch ” Abdullah Abdulraham. (September 15, 2022) .

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda Monday June 5, 2023 from 9:00- 10:00am followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Joseph’s RC Church East Main St. Gowanda ( please assemble at church). There will be a military prayer for Butch who was cremated and passed away last September in front of church following his mothers Mass of Christian Buria. His prayer will be conducted by Chaplain Sibley, the honor guard of the American Legion 409 and the James Cruden VFW Post 5007 of Gowanda along with Detail Officers of the U. S. Navy. Both June and Butch will then be buried at the McKean Memorial Park Cemetery on Lewis Run in McKean, Pa.

Memorials, if desired may be made to a local charity of ones choice.
