Mary A. Bull

GERRY — Mary A. Bull, 94, a resident of Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, Gerry, formerly of Swamp Road, Fredonia, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 4, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Kenmore on Sept. 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Beryl (Rose) Jamieson.

She was a graduate of the former Woodlawn High School, Class of 1948. When Mary graduated from high school, she worked for the former WT Grants in downtown Buffalo. She then went to work for the former New York Telephone Co. in both Angola & Dunkirk, for 8 years, until she decided starting a family was more important. From that time forward, she devoted her time to her family. Working countless hours in their grape vineyards and raising her family.

She was a member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, Sheridan, was a past member of the former Sheridan Happy Seniors and was a volunteer for Brooks Memorial Hospital 17 years. Mary enjoyed reading, going for walks, roller skating (which is how she met Don), doing puzzle books, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Donald R. Bull of Fredonia, whom she married July 9, 1955, at the First Church of Evans and a daughter, Susan (Nathan) Bell, of Sheridan. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Alicia (Zach) Schneider of Forestville and Andrew Munch of Dunkirk, three step-grandchildren Lucas (Amber) Bell, Sarah Bell of Sheridan and Sally Jo Bell of Clearwater, FL, a great grandson Theodore Schneider, two step great grandchildren Liam & Cora Bell and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son David Bull, who died April 13, 2021, two brothers, Joseph Jamieson-MIA in Korea & Robert Jamieson.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Wednesday from 4-7 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock with Rev. Mark Emke, pastor of the Open Door Baptist Church, Cassadaga, officiating. Interment will follow in Sheridan Center Cemetery, Town of Sheridan.

The family suggests memorials be made to either Meals on Wheels, 196 Newton Street, Suite 5, Fredonia, NY 14063 or to East Dunkirk Fire Department, 10949 South Roberts Road, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
