Terry Charles Dickinson,

Terry Charles Dickinson,

Terry Charles Dickinson, 70, of Fredonia, N.Y., was graciously reunited with his family in Heaven on July 23, 2023, after a long and very courageous struggle with COPD.

Born in Silver Creek, N.Y., on March 2, 1953, to the late Roland and Isabel (Southland) Dickinson.

Survived by his sister, Carol Mead of Cassadaga, N.Y., brother-in-laws Norman Newton of Silver Creek, N.Y., and Richard Pencek of Hilliard, Ohio. Also survived by his three children: Martin (Laura) Dickinson of Buffalo, N.Y., Christian Dickinson of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Sarah (Benjamin) Smith of Forestville, N.Y. Further survived by his three granddaughters: Jules and Addy Dickinson, and Willow Ann Smith, grandson Samuel Smith and step-granddaughters: Hannah and Jessica Smith and Hayley Middleton and Shania Trippy, as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends, and caring and attentive neighbors.

Thank you neighbors for taking care of Dad for us. Besides his mother and father, other relatives, and several close friends, Terry is predeceased by his brother Randy Dickinson, and sisters Susan Pencek and Shirley Newton.

In his lifetime Terry worked for WNYDDSO for 37 years, and then pleasantly retired. While not working he enjoyed spending time with his family and many pets, especially his favorite Boston Terrier, Hillary. He thoroughly loved talking on the phone, traveling, reading, following the beloved British Royal family, visiting the Amish community, history, museums, artwork, chocolate milkshakes, and somehow eating his never-ending fill at buffet restaurants. Among other things, Terry was intelligent, funny, quick-witted, straightforward, strong willed, independent, meticulous, ethical, understanding and strong. We will all miss him getting us going, and playing April Fool’s Day jokes on us. Now breathe easy and fly high, Dad. We’ll take care of the rest.

Terry chose not to have a funeral, and a celebration of life will be determined by his children at a later time. Final resting place will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Silver Creek, N.Y., next to his parents, grandparents, and among many other family and friends who were waiting for him.
