Frances Sammartino Sayers

She was born June 18, 1931 in Dunkirk, N.Y. to the late Angeline and Thomas Sammartino. Frances married her loving husband, William “Bill” Sayers, 72 years ago on March 31, 1951. She attended Dunkirk Schools. Frances was a homemaker as well as working at Tops Markets for many years. She will be remembered as a remarkable mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many whom she loved and cherished.

Surviving with her husband William “Bill” are her five sons: Robert- his children: Eric, Brett and Heather; Michael (Donna) – their children: Melissa, Jaime, Michael and Joseph; Kenneth (Karen) – their children: Hannah, Elizabeth, Esther and Rebecca; Thomas – his children: David, Susan, Julia and Olivia; William (Michele) – their children: April and Miranda; 24 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Matteo and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances is predeceased by her siblings: Joseph, Michael, who was killed in action during WWII, Grace and Ann.
