Geraldine Joan Szukala

Born January 10, 1935, in Chicago, Ill, daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline Wagner.

A member of Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church and parish Rosary Society.

Gerry married her now late husband Henry A. Szukala in October 1955, and they made their home in Dunkirk for the duration of their 50 plus year marriage.

She enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker who never missed any of her sons school activities or sporting events.

Gerry also liked reading and staying in touch with grandchildren over the years.

A faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great- grand- mother and friend.

She is survived by her sons Greg (Pam) Szukala of Peoria, AZ, Steven (Cathy) Szukala of Dunkirk, Paul (Brenda) of Hillard, OH, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren of whom she is very proud.

Preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband Henry in 2015, is her son Mark H. Szukala in 1956.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc, 56 E. Doughty St. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully declined and per Gerry’s wishes Memorials can be made to Dunkirk Free Library or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
