Ronald Joseph “Rapper” Krystofiak, 52, of Coatesville, PA, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, following a long illness.
He was born in Dunkirk, Nov. 15, 1970, son of Ronald James Krystofiak and the late V. Maureen (LaCapra) Krystofiak.
Ronald attended the former St. Hyacinth’s School along with Dunkirk Senior High School. He was a former parishioner of Blessed Mary Angela Parish at St. Hyacinth’s.
He served six years in the United States Navy aboard various ships.
Following his service, he worked for many years as an Electronics Technician Field Engineer at Wallops Island,VA Naval Facility under several contractors. Ron made his home nearby, in Pocomoke City, MD, where he raised his family.
We remember Ron as a fun-loving, genuine soul who enjoyed seeing people happy and having a good time. He had a big heart, contagious laugh, was generous, and loved to reach out to help others whenever he could.
He touched many peoples’ lives throughout the years. Ron especially loved carrying on a conversation on any topic big or small beginning at an early age, thus earning his nickname “Rapper”.
Surviving in addition to his father are his children Mitchell (Megan) Krystofiak of Pocomoke, MD, Matthew Krystofiak US NAVY in Hawaii, Michael Krystofiak Pocomoke, MD, and Chelsey Krystofiak Pocomoke, MD, siblings Mary (David) Shull Dunkirk, Michelle (Anthony) Hamilton of FL, Kevin (Jennifer) Krystofiak of NC, and Heather Krystofiak of Dunkirk; grandchildren Ethan, Elijah, Emmett, Emberlyn and Evelyn all of Maryland, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his special pet cat “PERRY”.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 1-3 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc, 56 E Doughty St., where funeral services will be held at 3 PM. Internment will be private.
Flowers are respectfully declined and Memorials are asked to be made to Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 E Chestnut St, Dunkirk, or the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council C/o American Legion Post #62 Central Avenue, Dunkirk.
