Janet Marie Privitera-Bonasera, 65, of Fredonia, N.Y., passed away suddenly at home, Monday August 28th, 2023.
She was born January 1st, 1958 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk N.Y., to the late Joseph R. Privitera and Mary DiCara Privitera.
She attended Cardinal Mindszenty High School, and later graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelors in Communications & Journalism, and a Masters degree in Social Sciences. Janet would go on to marry Daniel M. Bonasera, November 26th, 1988, and became a loving mother to Daniel J.D. Bonasera. Best known for her work with the Fredonia Migrant Education Outreach Program, along with various other social work positions, and charitable endeavors as a volunteer for her local Catholic Youth Organization, Janet would dedicate her life to making her community a better place. She was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Dunkirk N.Y. Janet enjoyed crocheting, cooking, spending time with her family, and volunteering her free time to local charities.
Janet is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Bonasera; her son, Daniel J.D. Bonasera (Samantha); her mother Mary Privitera, and numerous other beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Besides her father, Joseph R. Privitera, Janet is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph C. Privitera and David M. Privitera.
A private memorial will be held in her honor, to be officiated by Father Dan Walsh.
