Brian M. Bemis

He graduated from Clymer Central School in 1973, worked for his dad on the family dairy farm for 13 years, owned and operated the farm for the next 13 years, and then drove truck for Heil Transportation for 24 years.

He enjoyed cutting wood, making maple syrup with his wife and family, farming alongside his dad, bowling, and working in his garden. He also loved to watch his son and grandsons play football and volunteer for the chain crew on the sidelines.

He is survived by his wife Linda Bowen Bemis, whom he married on September 4, 1979; daughters Laurie (Kris) Beckerink of Clymer, Michelle Bemis of Clymer, and Kristie (Oliver) Chenard of Lakewood; son Andrew (Danielle) Bemis of Erie, Pa.; grandsons Kaden and Blake Beckerink and granddaughter Nora Bemis. He is also survived by his mother Arlene Bemis of Clymer, sister Susan (Paul) Spink of Clymer, brother Gordon (Linda) Bemis of Corry, Pa., brother Kevin Bemis of Dragoon, Ariz., sister-in-law Lynne Bemis of Corry, Pa., brother Jeffrey (Claudia) Bemis of Clymer, brother Jon (Janie) Bemis of Guthrie, Okla., and sister Jennifer (Les) Utegg of Corry, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father Merton Bemis, sister Kerry Bemis Watrous, and two brothers, Christopher and Philip.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Center Street Evangelical Church, 921 North Center St., Corry, Pa. Burial will be in Cutting Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the Spitzer Funeral Home in Clymer on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. All are welcome to the home of Brian and Linda Bemis after the funeral service for a luncheon.
