Ingrid Morrison, born November 28, 1940, in Hamburg,Germany peacefully transitioned on October 11, 2023, at home with her daughters by her side. Known for her creative spirit and resilience, Ms. Morrison brought joy and comfort to those around her, living a life filled with love, learning, and compassion.
Ms. Morrison was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ellis, who passed in 2008, her parents, Karl and Elisabeth (Pittig) Hobaum, stepfather Bruno Niedzwiecki Sr., and sisters Karin Werner and Gisela Hewicker.
Her legacy continues with her children Karen (Guy) Pierce, Donna Cullen, Carolyn (late David) Szejnar, Brian (Mel) Walters, Elizabeth Lysek, and Lorie (Daryll) Thompson. She is also survived by her brother Bruno (Marsha) Niedzwiecki Jr., sister Joyce Tall, many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her educational journey was rooted in the Angola and Lakeshore school districts, where she embraced her love for learning and crafts. This passion led her to a fulfilling career as a seamstress at Suzanne’s Bridal Shop, where her heart and hands aligned creating beautiful gowns.
Ingrid’s creative drive extended into her personal life as well, where she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, woodworking, and gardening. It was not uncommon to find her canning and preserving the fruits of her garden’s labour. When not creating with her hands, she loved watching crime shows, engrossed in solving the mysteries on screen. She also enjoyed Socializing at the Moose Lodge and the Beaver club where she was a member.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
