Louis F. Kinney

Louis F. Kinney,78, born August 1, 1945, in Stockton, NY, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023, in Dunkirk, NY.

He was a dedicated family man, loyal friend, and committed member of his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Kinney and Helen Briggs Kinney.

Louis is survived by his adoring wife of 48 years, Lola Milliman Kinney. He was a loving father to four children, Scott (Lisa) Kinney, Stacy (Howard) Sears, Stephanie Evans, and Sonja Davenport. He was also a cherished grandfather of Payton, Logan, Madison, Mackenzie, Hunter, and Sierra, and was blessed with one great-grandchild.

Louis graduated from Cassadaga Central Schools and further embodied patriotic dedication by serving in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1968. He worked for many years at Niagara Therapy in Brocton, NY, and concluded his career at ADD Lumber in Dunkirk, NY.

Throughout his life, Louis was an active member of his community. He contributed as a member of the Brocton Fire Department for 35 years and faithfully served the American Legion Post 434 in Brocton, NY, for 17 years. Louis always sought ways to help others and create a positive impact in his town.

His interests centered around thrill and adventure as much as they dwelled on tranquility. He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and Buffalo sports and passionately enjoyed hunting. Yet, Louis found equivalent delight in spending time with his family and friends, cherishing the simple moments as they were.

His passing leaves a void in our lives, but his spirit will live on in the values he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we crafted together. Louis F. Kinney, a venerable man whose legacy lies in his devotion to his family and community, shall continue to inspire us.
