On November 22, 2023, Joseph J. Valvo, Jr. passed away after a short illness. He was born to the late Joseph Valvo and Josephine Valvo on October 28, 1929, in Fredonia, NY.
Joe was a retired grape farmer, employee of the New York State Thruway Authority, and veteran of the United States Air Force. He was always there for his loving wife, the late June E., his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Joe is survived by five sons and three daughters: Joseph R. (Evelyn) Valvo of Silver Creek, NY, Frederick T. (Doreene) Valvo of South Bethlehem, NY, Daniel E. (Kathleen) Valvo of Delanson, NY, Louis A. (Cynthia) Valvo of Lakeland, FL, Lawrence Q. Valvo of Burke, VA, Elizabeth J. (Michael) Finsterwalder of Roselle, IL, Nancy J. (William) Valentine of Fredonia, NY, and Jennifer J. (Paul) Valvo of Tallahassee, FL. He is further survived by seven grandchildren: Michelle (Dennis) Maggio, Adam (Katie) Valvo, Jason Valvo, Aaron Valvo, Noah Valvo, Candyce (Brian) Carr, and Stephen (Brittney) Valvo; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Cipolla of Erie, PA.
Joe’s funeral service will be held at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main St., Fredonia, NY, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services and may call at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00PM on Monday, November 27, 2023. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Sheridan, NY.
