Paul V. Lutz

Paul V. Lutz, 92, Owner/President of Dans Moving & Storage, passed away Sunday October 8, 2023 in New Smyrna Beach, FL after a brief illness.

Born Vincent Muscato on September 15, 1931, Paul was raised as the son of Daniel and Ceil Luczkowiak (Lutz). He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1949, and later attended the University of Buffalo, before enlisting in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict. After proudly serving his country, Paul joined his father in the family business. Under Paul’s management, the business flourished and in 1983, his son Mark joined him.

He was active in many local organizations – the Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club, the Jaycees and many others. Paul met his future wife, Marlene Herr, in 1982. Upon retirement, they moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL., where Paul was active in local politics of the NSB Silver Sands community. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandson Hunter, as well as clamming and socializing with friends. Once Paul moved to Florida, he greatly enjoyed submitting articles to the Dunkirk Observer of his historical recollections of Dunkirk (fact check not guaranteed) and his many years of life in his hometown.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Marlene and his parents.

He is survived by his son Mark (Kelly) Lutz, his daughters Kayla (Michael Klein) Lindquist and Teril Turner (Noor) Heravi. Paul leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of his life from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the WWIIVeterans Club, 216 Lake Shore Dr E, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
