Albert H. Thorpe

In earlier years he had worked for a milk plant in Sherman, NY, and GE in Erie, PA. His true passion was grape farming, which he grew on his property in Westfield, and had also worked for Henry Rohman for 27 years in his grape vineyards.

He was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church. He enjoyed carpentry and electrical work, raising farm animals, and grape farming.

Albert is survived by two sons; Thomas (Christina) Thorpe of Westfield, NY and James (Cheryl) Thorpe of Ripley, NY, and eight grandchildren; Josie (Dan) Walters, Brittany (John) Chase, Dustin Carris, Billie Wright, Bobbie Wright, Curtis Thorpe, Ken Thorpe, and Keith Thorpe, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha N. Warner Thorpe, his second wife, Elizabeth Baker Thorpe, a sister; Grace Sissem, two brothers, John Thorpe and Stewart Thorpe and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Thorpe and Damon Marinoff.

The funeral will be held at 1 PM on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Nick Perry will officiate. Burial will be in the Mina Cemetery. The family will receive friends for two hours before the service (11 AM to 1PM), at the funeral home.
