Carmelyn M. Johnson

She was born in Fredonia, NY on April 2, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Gugino) Provenzano.

Carm worked as a crossing guard and later a dispatcher for the Fredonia police department. She was also a bus driver for Fredonia Central schools. She graduated from Fredonia Central School in 1951.

Carm was a member of St. Dominics Church Brocton and part of their Altar and Rosary Society, Brocton Senior Citizens, Share & Care Fredonia and American Legion Post 434 Ladies Auxiliary Brocton.

Carm loved listening to the scanner, her Buffalo Bills and Pittsburg Steelers, attending the grandchildren’s school and sporting events, Facebook and most of all her hometown of Fredonia,NY!

Survivors include a daughter Cynthia (Warren) Erdle of Dunkirk, a son David (Caroline) Johnson of Brocton; two grandchildren Kari (Jeffery) Potter and Brandon (Sarah) Tarnowski; five great grandchildren Nolan and Bryce Potter, Brayden, Jackson and Adalynn Tarnowski; her niece and godchild Delores Case of Fredonia and Joanne Provenzano of Evansville Indiana along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Guy (Marie) and Joseph Provenzano and a nephew Gary Provenzano.

Relatives and friends may visit Morse Funeral Home 51 Highland Avenue Brocton, NY Tuesday December 12, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church 12 Central Avenue Brocton, NY at 11AM.

The family would like to thank Sister Corona, Amanda Brown, Maria, the nursing staff and all of the wonderful staff that cared for her the past nine months at St. Columbans.

The family suggests memorials be made to St Columban’s on the Lake 2546 Lake Road Silver Creek, NY 14136. Flowers gratefully declined.
