Frances D. Chmiel

She was born March 1, 1925 in New Albion, NY the daughter of the late Martin Danner and Ruby (Preston) Danner-Gold.

Mrs. Chmiel was married to Henry Chmiel who predeceased her on June 20, 2006.

Mrs. Chmiel was a Registered Nurse at Tri-County Memorial Hospital for many years and also at Gowanda Psychiatric Center until her retirement.She was a Volunteer and donated with the American Red Cross, member of the Gowanda United Methodist Church and the Southtowns Chapter #177 DAV.

She is survived by three sons Dennis (Edith) Chmiel of Lawtons, NY, Henry (Deborah) Chmiel of Gowanda NY and Rob (late Lorrie) Chmiel of Hamburg, NY, and eight grandchildren Dennis Jr., David, Krista, Anthony, Angela, Brandi, Dylan and Rylie, and seven great-grandchildren Emily, Joanna, Malia, Jordan, Jax, Jace and Nora.Also surviving are two sisters Patricia Miller of Pittsford, NY and Mry Danner of Limestone, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her loving husband she is predeceased by a son Michael Chmiel, and four brothers James, Raymond, Robert and Preston Danner and 2 sisters Kathleen Stein and Jane Vogtli.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 E. Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Saturday Dec. 30, 2023 from 11 am-1pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1 pm from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Gowanda, NY.
