Lionel E. “Leo” Herbeck
Lionel E. “Leo” Herbeck, 90, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY, having enjoyed the prior year at Peregrine Senior Living at Orchard Park, NY.
He was born on January 12, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Charles and Marjorie (nee Seitz) Herbeck.
Leo was a 1951 graduate of Kenmore High School and proudly served his country in U.S. Army. He married the former Rosemarie Vargel in Berlin, Germany on February 2, 1955. She predeceased him on July 18, 2018 after 63 years of marriage.
Leo worked for Automation Gages, Inc. in Rochester, NY as a mechanical engineer retiring after 43 years of service.
His memberships included the Myopia Pistol Club in Rochester, NY, Desert Wings RC Club in Lake Havasu City, AZ, and the Hanford Bay Community Club. He was also a fix and repair hobbyist.
He is survived by his son Terrence “Terry” (Kimmarie) Herbeck of Silver Creek, NY; daughter, Peggy (Francis) Delach of Lake Havasu, AZ; and step-granddaughter, Francesca (Michael) Padgeon.
As per Leo’s wishes there will no public visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family in 2024.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, NY.
