David E. Burlingame Sr.

David E. Burlingame Sr., passed peacefully at home, Saturday, Dec 30, 2023.

Born to William and Blanche (Duncan) Burlingame on Sept. 18, 1942, and was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk NY.

He is survived by his sister Linda Rae Perry, sons David E. (Amy) Burlingame Jr, Kevin Burlingame, Eric (JoieLyn) Burlingame, Ex-wife Linda Burlingame, estranged daughter in law/caregiver Candy Sears. Grandchildren Quintin Burlingame, Brennan Burlingame, Payton (Michelle) Burlingame, Timothy (April) LeBarron Jr, Christopher (Abby) Sears, Danyal (James) Dickerson, Dylan Burlingame, Erica (Juan) Fred, Ashley Burlingame, Dalton Burlingame, Bailiegh Burlingame, Dustin Robinson; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

David was a Boatswain Chief Petty Officer in the Navy serving active duty for 2 years, Retired Navy Reserves of 31 years of service.

He worked for the NYS Thruway Dept retiring with 35 years.

David was involved in Boy Scouts of America for years and has 3 grandsons that earned their Eagle Scout rankings.

David was a Life Member as a Volunteer Fireman with East Town of Dunkirk.

Director and Vice President of the VFPSNY and also Director at Large. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 1017 – Dunkirk, NY. American Legion

Post 434 – Brocton. Past Member of The Navy Ship Club Post 6472 in Silver Creek, Chautauqua Co. Fire Police Response Team – Past President and Team Capt. Chautauqua Co. Vol. Fire Police Association.

David also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, a avid Buffalo Bills fan and of NASCAR fan.

Services will be on Jan 4, 2024, at The East Town Dunkirk Fire Dept, 10949 S. Roberts Road in Dunkirk, NY. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 12-1pm. Service will be at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers donation to East Town Dunkirk Fire Dept or Chautauqua Co. Fire Police Assoc.
