Elizabeth J. “Betty” Korzeniewski

She was born January 9, 1929, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late John and Joanna (Jozwiak) (Rozumalski) Meyers.

A retired employee of SUNY at Fredonia, and had also worked in the past at JC Penny’s after 38 years, the former Van Raalte and M. Wile intercontinental Branded Apparel.

Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig, the Dunkirk Senior Center, Kosciuszko Club, Dom Polski Club, and Moose Club,

Betty loved her family and enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving are her children Rebecca “Becky” (Chris) Nalepa of Stockton, David (Melinda) Korzeniewski of Fredonia, Brenda Korzeniewski of Dunkirk, grandchildren Jamie (Shawn) Logan, Rich (Carly) Nalepa, Michael (Sarah) Korzeniewski, Kendra, Adam Korzeniewski, Joshua, Kevin Sosinski, Morgan Elizabeth, great grandchildren Nicole, Jacob, Brayden, Taylor, Raelyn, Declan, Rosalie, Gracie Ann, Noah, sister in law Joan Meyers, along with many nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death in addition to her parents are sons Tim and Tom Korzeniewski, infant son, granddaughter Katie Korzeniewski, and brothers Robert, John and James Meyers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM at BMA Church of St. Hedwig, where the family will be present 45 minutes prior to the services. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.

Betty’s family would like to extend a grateful thank you to all the staff at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center for all the care extended to Betty and her family.

The family suggests memorials to be made to Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 E Chestnut St, Dunkirk, NY 14048 or a charity of ones choice.
