Sami Manirath, age 52 of Dunkirk/Fredonia, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2024, following injuries sustained in a tragic car accident. Sami, the daughter of Bounmy Manirath and the late Scott Manirath, was born on January 1, 1972 in Laos, and set forth on a journey to the United States in 1980, bringing with her a vibrant spirit and a heart full of dreams.
Sami proudly graduated from Dunkirk High School and pursued her passion for law, earning her license from the University at Buffalo, excelling across various fields of law. Beyond her professional pursuits, Sami found immense joy in her culinary talents, crafting dishes that included the warmth of her love and rich heritage. Recently establishing ‘Sami’s Cuisine’ in Fort Kent, ME, she poured her heart into this endeavor, while residing with her beloved fiance, Jeffrey Zewe.
Sami was passionate about a healthy life style, making exercise a regular part of her routine. She found joy in the outdoors, especially in cherished moments spent boating. But above all, she loved nothing more than spending time with her children, who were her utmost pride and joy, Kaitlin A. Wallace (Spencer Koeppel) and Brandon D. Wallace, who were the center of her world.
Sami is survived by her cherished children, and devoted sisters- Vanhdy Fix (Jamie) and Savyvanh Richards (Ryan), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a vast circle of dear friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and generosity.
A viewing to honor and celebrate Sami’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, January 13th between 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, followed by a brief ceremony at 4 p.m. located at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
