Gowanda –Bruce N. Marx age 78 of Gowanda passed away Thursday February 28, 2024 on his terms; at home, (not in a hospital or nursing facility).
Bruce was born in Springville December 4, 1945 the son of Clarence L. and Ruth M. (Zubrick) Marx
Bruce graduated from North Collins High School
Bruce married the former Natalie E. Diodato at the Holy Spirit RC Church in North Collins. October 9, 1965. Natalie passed away with Bruce at her side November 13, 2011.
Bruce enlisted with the United States Navy, he honorably served from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam War. He was a Life Member of the Gowanda American Legion Post 409 and the James Cruden VFW Post 5007 of Gowanda along with being a past member of the Gowanda Moose # 1382 and the Gowanda Slovenian Club.
Bruce loved sports cars, older cars in general but especially was fond of an older yellow Mustang he purchased from a dear friend .
Bruce and Natalie lived for many years in Holland, NY. They moved to Gowanda shortly after Bruce retired from the former Fisher Price Corporation in East Aurora, he retired after more than 35 years of employment. At the time of his retirement Bruce was a Supervisor with Design and Development with the company.
Survivors include 2 sons; Donald N. (Joly) Marx of Irving and Brian L. (Lisa) Marx of Coleman, Fla. along with grandchildren; Carrie M. (David) Graham, Sara, Lavinity, Izaila and Zaliana Marx. Bruce is also survived by 3 brothers; Thomas (Eileen) Marx of Collins, Paul (Carol) Marx of Rochester and William (Lisa) Marx of Angola. Nieces and Nephews also survive.
A celebration of Life for both Bruce and Natalie with full military honors for Bruce will be held Saturday March 23, 2024 at the James Cruden VFW Post 5007 at 2:00pm 20 Sand Hill Rd. Gowanda. (please assemble at club )
Arrangements are by the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda, NY
Memorials if desired may be made to a local charity of ones choice or a dish to pass may be brought for the luncheon that is planned at the club immediately following Bruce and Natalie’s Celebration. Contact Joly or the funeral home if you have any questions regarding food.
