Elaine R. Ashley

She was born October 1, 1933 in the Town of Dayton. She was a daughter of the late Worden and Ruth Parsell. She was the loving wife of the late Leland C. (Lee-Zip) Ashley; whom she married on August 9, 1951 in Cheektowaga, NY.

She worked at the Gowanda Psychiatric Center for 25 years. She was also a member of the New Apostolic Church.

She is survived by her son Wayne L. (Beverly) Ashley of Silver Creek, NY, her daughter Suzanne E. (Jeffrey) Bobseine of Collins, NY, two grandsons; Christopher Ashley of Silver Creek, NY and Bryon (Sarah) Bobseine of Springville, NY; three granddaughters, Darcy (late Roy) Beatty of North Carolina, Stacey (Steve) Raiport of Gowanda, NY and Tammy (Dan) Schmitz of Hamburg, NY. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a great friend Steve Vert.

Besides her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her son James Ashley and sisters Betty Burton and Doris Brown.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00PM – 9:00PM Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St. Gowanda, NY.

Burial services will be held privately by the family at the Jolls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gowanda Ambulance or Dayton Fire Company.
