Linda M. John

Born Nov. 9, 1946, in Conneaut, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ora Marsh and Dorothy Slocum Barnes.

Linda was a 1965 Graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, then in her late adult life she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through Empire State College in 1996. She was a long time New York State Employee, ending her career at SUNY College at Fredonia where she worked as an Admin in the Business School.

Her hobbies and activities included the Kiwanis Club, the Legion Auxiliary, member of Orchard Beach Assembly of God Church in North East, PA, volunteer at the Westfield Historical Society and McClurg Museum, participant in the Westfield Community Chorus, and volunteer at the Thrifty Kitty cat rescue center in Westfield.

Linda loved local history, watching old movies and TV shows, listening to worship music, engaging with all kinds of animals, playing with her dog, being close to the water, spending many a lazy afternoon at Barcelona Pier, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Larry John of Westfield, NY, a daughter, Nancy (Anil) Pannikkat of Mountain View, CA, two grandchildren, Meera and Colin Pannikkat of Mountain View, CA, and two brothers, Thomas (Judy) Marsh of Westfield, NY and David (Christine) Marsh of Jamestown, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as stepfather Tom Barnes.

A public Celebration of Life will be announced/held at a later time, at the convenience of the family.
