Christopher J. Matthies

Chris was born in Buffalo on April 18, 1960, the son of Harlean J. (Gray) Matthies, of Sunset Bay and the late William E. Matthies, Jr. He was a graduate of Alden Central School, Class of 1978 and served in the National Guard for 6 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne M. (Jeremy Taggert) Matthies, of Forestville; a son, Justin (Amanda Maynard) Matthies, of Forestville; two sisters, Karen Kingsley, of Forestville; and Nancy Vollmer, of Silver Creek. Also surviving is a grandson Phenix C. Matthies. Besides his father he was predeceased by a brother William E. Matthies, III.

Chris donated his body for medical research. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-8 PM on Saturday, April 13th at the J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post 953, 6 Cedar Street, Forestville. Please wear tie-dye patriotic attire and bring good memories to share.
