Gene R. Kennedy
Gowanda – Gene R. Kennedy, 74, of Gowanda, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. He was born on November 12, 1949 in Irving, son of the late Raymond and Pauline (Harris) Kennedy.
Gene was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation, Heron Clan. For many years, he worked in construction throughout the Cattaraugus Reservation and was also a mechanic, as most recently at Native Pride.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his longtime partner, Audrey Seneca, of Gowanda, and a son, Sean Kennedy of Gowanda, as well as three sisters; Phyllis Kettle of Gowanda, Hazel Kennedy of Gowanda, and Sylvia Jameson of Gowanda, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gene is predeceased by a sister, Esther Kennedy, and many brothers.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 4-7 pm from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10 am from the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
