Gloria Kraiger

She was born Gloria Mayme Shepard on October 17, 1926 in Dunkirk, NY to the late Frank B. and

Hildegard Shepard. She graduated from Dunkirk High School and married Frederick W. Kraiger in 1946 after he returned home from serving in the Army Air Forces during WWII.

Gloria is survived by two daughters Pamela Eades (Dennis) of Greenwood, Kyle Johnson (David) of Greenwood, a son, Frederick T. Kraiger (Robin) of Port Richie, Florida; six grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Husband of 71 years, Frederick W. Kraiger; brothers Adelbert Shepard, Frank Shepard, George Shepard and sister Leona Tucker.

Her passion was fashion. She owned and operated Gloria’s Fashion Shop in Fredonia for many years.

She enjoyed personally choosing the latest fashions in New York City to hang on the racks in her shop.

In 2013, Gloria and Frederick moved to Greenwood, Indiana to be near their children and grandchildren.

They enjoyed many splendid years filled with birthdays, anniversaries, and holiday gatherings of their large family. She was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dunkirk, N.Y. for 78 years.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home

at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, In. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia, NY.
