Hope B. Phillips

Little Valley – Hope B. Phillips, 82, of Little Valley passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Olean Pines Nursing Home. She was born on April 27, 1942 in Franklinville, daughter of the late Albert and Ruth (Chase) Marsh.

For 28 years, she worked for Cattaraugus County Real Property in assessment records, retiring as supervisor. Hope was a member of the Frewsburg American Legion’s Auxiliary, the Little Valley VFW Auxiliary, as well as the Little Valley Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

Ms. Phillips is survived by two sons; Bradley (Evonne) Phillips of Little Valley, and Michael (Mike Staller) Phillips of Punta Gorda, FL. Also surviving is a daughter, Tracy (Dennis) Long of Frewsburg, one brother, Norman (Charlyn) Marsh of Little Valley, two sisters; Elizabeth (late) Chuck) Schuyler of Franklinville, and Brenda (Jim) Rivetti of Olean, and a sister-in-law, Marie Marsh of NJ. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Zachary (Clara) Phillips, Luke Phillips, Kayleigh (Larry) Johnson, and Sierra (Todd) Gerhard, as well as six great-grandchildren; Charlie, Connor, Olivia, Ezra, Adalind, and Finnegan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Hope is predeceased by her loving companion, Gerald Sanford, two brothers, Clifford Marsh and Dean Marsh, and a sister, Alberta Cherry.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
