Jennifer L. “Jiji” Schneider

She was born on May 14, 1955 in Plattsburgh, NY, daughter of the late James and Betty Lou (VanBuren) Maneely. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late William Bruce (Blanche) VanBuren, following Jiji’s mother’s sudden passing when she was 3.

She was a graduate of Buffalo State College, with her degree in teaching special education. She taught for many different schools but most of her career was spent as the preschool teacher for Niskayuna Reform Church in Niskayuna, NY.

On August 8, 2010, she married Paul “Duke” Schneider, who survives. Also surviving are two sons; Peter (Jaime Gloria) Rogone of Dallas, TX, and Reese (Holly) Rogone of Buffalo, NY. She is also survived by a step-son, Talon Schneider of Pittsford, NY, a step-daughter, Larissa (Justin) Darling of East Concord, and a brother, Timothy (Debbie) VanBuren of Colchester, VT. Also surviving are two beloved grandchildren; Hudson Rogone, whom Jiji shared a birthday with, and Emerson Rogone, who was born this past January, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her birth parents and grandparents, Jiji is predeceased by a brother, James Maneely.

Private family services will be held.
