Marjorie Elaine (Pitroff) Frudd

Marjorie Elaine (Pitroff) Frudd, aged 86, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, in Salamanca, NY.

Born on Valentine’s Day in 1938 in Erie, PA, Marjorie’s life was a testament to love and dedication, a melody that resonated through her days as surely as the music she played.

Marjorie’s journey began as the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Shreve) Pitroff, and her path was one of harmony and service. In 1956, she graduated from Mayville Central Schools, embarking on a career that included nurturing roles as a Chautauqua County Home aide, a switchboard operator at Chautauqua and Erie Telephone Company, and a buyer for Sidey’s Department Store. Her most cherished vocation, however, was that of a childcare giver, a role in which she excelled with infinite warmth and patience.

Married for 60 blissful years to her late husband, Charles B. Frudd, Marjorie was the loving matriarch of a family that included her daughter Deborah S. Johnson, her daughter Dalynn R. Frudd, her son Douglas D. (Jayne) Frudd, and her predeceased son Daniel C. Frudd. The joys of her life were further multiplied by her grandchildren Joshua N. (Rachel) Johnson, Cullen (Heather) Johnson, Kirsten (Frank) Gesing, Jesse (Sarah) Johnson, Samantha (Jeff) Roblee, Sarah Frudd, and Sadie Frudd, as well as her great-grandchildren Norah, Delia, Chiara, Leon, August, Mila, Minka, Evelynn, Micah, Emma, and Caroline, brothers-in-law Harry Frudd, Robert (Bonnie) Frudd, and Duane (Sharon) Frudd, and a treasured circle of nieces and nephews.

Marjorie’s love extended beyond the reaches of family, touching the lives of her predeceased sister, Mary, predeceased brother, Charles, also a predeceased Brother in law Eugene and a sister in law Emma.

Her life was a bouquet of interests, including entertaining family and friends, and her passion for music led her to play the piano for her church, numerous weddings, and funerals. Marjorie was a dedicated member and pianist at the East Lake Road Alliance Church, and served joyously in the same capacity at the Brocton Free Methodist Church for many years.

Marjorie’s legacy is a composition of love, faith, and a gentle spirit that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were blessed to know her. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the harmony and selflessness that she embodied. Her song on earth may have ended, but her melody lingers on in the hearts of those who loved her.
