Winifred June Colt, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024, in Cape Coral, FL. Born on October 22, 1929, in Portland, NY, Winifred was a dedicated mother, grandmother and sister whose warmth and tenderness touched all those around her. Always at the heart of her family, she created a home filledwith love and the aroma of her renowned baked goods. Winifred’s life was enriched by the companionship of her two husbands–the late Melvin Noftsker, with whom she shared 50 years, and the late Wolcott “Cub” Colt, with whom she spent 12 treasured years. She leaves behind a legacy through her surviving son, Charles (Mary Jo) Noftsker of Cape Coral, FL; her sister Diane (Joseph) Giambra; and son-in-law Bruce Woleben. Winifred’s spirit will forever be cherished by her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, with one more soon joining the family fold. Her commitment to community was exemplified through her lifelong activity in the Brocton Baptist Church, where she nurtured her deep faith from childhood into her adult years. She carried this sense of service into her role as a homemaker, viewing the vocation not just as work, but as a cornerstone of her existence. Winifred delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from the joy of baking to the laughter of loved ones gathered around her kitchen table. Her hands, always busy in an act of care, wove a tapestry of memories that will remain with us as her most precious gift. Winifred June Colt’s unwavering kindness will be profoundly missed, and her indomitable spirit will continue to guide us.
