FORESTVILLE: Carolyn M. Swanson, 92, of Hopper Road, Forestville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Evelyn (Pim) Workoff.
Carolyn worked as a Supervisor at the former Kessler Graphics, Silver Creek and also worked for the former Forbes & Wagner in Silver Creek. She assisted her late husband with the family farm. Carolyn enjoyed fishing, boating, playing cards & puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Bifaro, of Forestville; and Barbara Grady, of Fredonia. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Jason Bifaro, Carrie Ann (Joe) Mueller, Stacey (Pat) Purpera, Matthew (Elizabeth) Szocki, Timothy (Megan) Szocki, eight great grandchildren; Waylon & Hank Bifaro, Ralph Mueller, Jack Purpera, Benjamin Szocki, Luke Szocki, Jacob Szocki and Liam Cullen. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph C. Swanson, whom she married on June 25, 1949 in the Forestville Baptist Church and who died September 18, 2021 and two brothers Joseph and Donald Workoff.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday from 3-7 PM from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Smith Mills Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
