Randy A. Koba

Randy A. Koba, 56, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away on May 3, 2024, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. He was surrounded by his loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY on December 26, 1967, son of Walter Koba and the late Shirley (Drummond) Koba.

He is survived by: his spouse, Barbara (Zmuda) Koba; his children: Courtney Koba, Devin Koba, and stepson, Dr. Shaun Zmuda; He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia (Koba) Zach and her spouse Michael Zach.

Randy graduated from Fredonia High School in 1986 and went on to study Sports Medicine at Canisius College. Randy worked as an officer for the New York State Department of Corrections for 25 years and retired in 2017. He and Barbara were married on December 11th, 2021.

Randy was a very devoted and loving father. He loved spending time with his family and his friends. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, skiing, and had the talent of being able to fill a room with laughter. Randy and his wife, Barbie, attended many concerts, events, and love to go for motorcycle rides. He was always known as “the life of the party”.

Randy will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held at the LARSON- TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, Friday from 3 -7 pm. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, 1 N. Mullet St. Dunkirk, Friday evening commencing at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, Saturday at 12 noon.
