Jeremey Michael Nellis

He was born on March 5, 1974 in Westfield, New York to Greg Russell and Lorrie Sue (Batts) Nellis.

Jeremey graduated salutatorian from Ripley Central School and went back to school to earn his LPN nursing degree. He graduated valedictorian of his nursing degree courses.

He was currently employed at the VA hospital in Erie. He previously worked at Millcreek Community Hospital and Dana Brake Parts in North East.

Jeremey was an avid reader, he loved to go camping and taking long hikes. He enjoyed canoeing with family and friends on the Allegheny River. Some of his other passions were working in the garden, painting miniatures, and his salt water fish tanks. He enjoyed playing video games and watching sci-fi and Star Wars shows. He was passionate about helping anyone when they needed anything.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Batts.

He is survived by his girlfriend Wendy Leonard; son, Andrew Nellis and mother, Lori Nellis; sister, Jennifer Hawkins (Jeremy); brother, Billy Nellis; paternal grandparents, William & Helen Nellis; maternal grandparent, Eleanor Batts-Bane; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held a Quincy Cemetery.
