Katherine “Kay” Hosterman

Katherine “Kay” Hosterman, age 82 of Erie, passed away on Tuesday January 9, 2024. She was born in Dunkirk, NY on August 7, 1941. The youngest of thirteen, Kay was a daughter of the late James L. and Dorothy (Bohn) Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten siblings, Dorothea Reily, Mary Jean Brown, Virginia Pawlak, Rev. Thomas J. Miller C.S.S.P, Paul Miller, James Miller, Daniel Miller, David Miller, Jacqueline Schrantz and Helen Mary Miller.

She graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in Dunkirk, class of 1959. She was a longtime member of St. Luke Catholic Church, where she was a former lector and director of the choir. She was also very involved with Mount St. Benedict Monastery and a member of the St. Andrews Choir.

Kay is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arthur Hosterman whom she married on November 17, 1962; their two children, Karl (Katherine) Hosterman of Cincinnati and Kathleen (Bob) Holmgren of Erie; four grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Marino, Derek Hosterman, Kyle (Courtney) Holmgren and Magaret Holmgren; five great-grandchildren and two siblings, Margaret (Harold) Emmerling and Peter Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated at Mount St. Benedict Monastery, 6101 East Lake Rd. on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, at 11 a.m.
