Jerome S. Thomas, 62 of Jamestown, NY, also known as “Sammy”, died at UPMC Hamot, in Erie, PA, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Dunkirk, NY on March 18,1962, the son of Deacon Johnnie T. Thomas, Sr.and Rosietta (Jackson) Thomas. Jerome attended the Dunkirk Public Schools.
Jerome moved to Jamestown, NY in 1984. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
He enjoyed watching basketball, football, and being around his family and friends. He knew how to light up a room with his laughter, jokes, or comical remarks. He had a heart of gold, willing to help anyone, if he could.
To cherish his many memories, he leaves his four children Marcus, Thomas of Jamestown, NY, Jermiekah Thomas of Jamestown, NY, Charish (Matthew) Lee of VA and Willie (Agnes) Simon of FL, twelve grandchildren, and his loving companion of 39 years, Tracy Carter.
He will be terribly missed by one sister, Myra Thomas. two brothers, Randolph Thomas, and Rudolph Thomas, all of Dunkirk, NY, as well as, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by his loving parents, grandparents, two sisters, Marta Hollias, and Marcella Krzyzanowski, two brothers, Robert Dennis Thomas and Deacon Johnny M. Thomas, Jr.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME. 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY.
