Bethany M. St. George
Bethany M. St. George, 79, passed gracefully into eternity on Sept. 29, 2024, at her home in Brocton, NY, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dunkirk, NY, on Oct. 19, 1944, she was the cherished daughter of the late Grant and Margaret (Gibson) Campbell.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frank St. George, to whom she was married for 24 loving years. Bethany will be lovingly remembered by her sister Pat (Michael) Campbell Balcer; her beloved children Brenda (Gary) Fernandes, Ken (Michelle) St. George, Jeff (Nancy) St. George, Marie (Ronald Williams) St. George, Amanda (Bob) Payne and Kevin (Michelle) Browne. A doting grandmother and great-grandmother, her legacy continues through her 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Bethany’s numerous nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart.
Bethany’s career as a self-employed beautician spanned more than five decades, touching the lives of countless individuals with her skilled hands and compassionate spirit. Her affiliation with fraternal and community organizations such as Sorority Eta Tau, Eastern Star, and being conferred the Order of the Rose by Beta Sigma Phi, spoke volumes about her commitment to service and fellowship.
An avid fan of Elvis and the Buffalo Bills, Bethany’s passions included inspiring others as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, and cheerleading coach. Her strong faith and kind spirit were cornerstones of her character, exemplified by her natural role as a confidant to friends and family alike. Bethany’s capacity to find the silver lining in every cloud and to live by the golden rule left indelible impressions on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Bethany’s unforgettable lasagna, her delightful Christmas cookies, and her joy in gifting birthday scratch-offs brought simple pleasures to many gatherings. However, it will be her beautiful smile, that will be missed most of all. Bethany M. St. George lived a life resplendent with love, and the memory of her kindhearted soul will forever be etched into the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
