David J. Raymond III
David J. Raymond III, 77, of Fredonia, NY, died unexpectedly at home on Friday October 4,2024. David was born in Dunkirk on March 9, 1947, son of David J. Raymond, Jr. and Amelia (Pasinski) Raymond.
He was raised in the Town of Pomfret and graduated from Fredonia High School. A United States Navy Veteran, David enlisted at the age of 17, serving on the USS Ranger off the coast of Vietnam during the Viet Nam War. He was also a member o fthe National Guard. David worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier out of the post office in Bemus Point. While living in California, he worked as a telephone man for Pacific Bell.
He had several hobbies including hunting, fishing and working on cars. David was a member of Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59.
David is survived by 2 brothers: Dennis J. Raymond and Dwayne J. (Tina) Raymond, both of Fredonia; his sister, Debra J. (Donald) Bane, of Tampa, FL; also service by 6 nieces and nephews and his daughter, Kristin.
