John R. McCormick

John R. McCormick, 68, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away at home with his family beside him on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, after a year-long illness. He was born on Aug. 5, 1956 in Drumwright, Oklahoma, to the late Robert and Melinda (Christy) McCormick. John worked as an OTR truck driver and installed satellite dishes. He was also a skilled handyman and was able to repair almost anything. John loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing, yet his greatest love was for his family and those close to him, whom he would help at a moment’s notice. John is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Tyszko) McCormick and his two daughters, Amy Estep and Tracy (Chris) Einhart, along with his two grandsons Gavin and Nash Estep of Dunkirk. He also leaves behind his sister Mildred (Kay) McNally, his brothers, Gary and Bob McCormick, and six nieces. A memorial service will be held at the Victory Baptist Church, 10659 Roberts Road, Fredonia, NY, on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 AM.
