Persia – Nancy L Nottis, 87, of the Town of Persia, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at her home. She was born on June 25, 1937 in Tonawanda, daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret McVaugh. Nancy married Douglas Nottis, who survives. For almost 20 years, she worked for Gowanda Electronics before her retirement. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Frewsburg.
Besides her loving husband, Nancy is survived by a son, Christopher (Donna) Stoll of Ringgold, GA, and two daughters, Lisa Schwertfager of Castile, NY, and Janet Stoll. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Andrew Schwertfager, Lindsay (Richard) Haskins, and Corey Schwertfager, as well as two great-grandchildren, Blake and Luke Haskins. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Judith McVaugh of Cattaraugus and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Nancy is predeceased by four brothers; Calvin McVaugh, Terry McVaugh, Jay McVaugh, and Francis McVaugh, and five sisters; Alice Hanks, Laurie Ground, Mary St. Jean, Marjorie Coon, and Diane McVaugh.
Friends may call on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2 pm from the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
