Marvin Duane Marx

Marvin Duane Marx, 77, of Fredonia, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on July 11, 1947, Marvin lived a full life rooted in love, loyalty, and service.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Marvin served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication exemplified his lifelong commitment to protecting and supporting those around him.

Marvin was married to the love of his life, Cynthia, with whom he shared many cherished years. Together, they built a close-knit family filled with love and laughter. He was the proud father of two sons, Chad (Danielle) Marx and Eric (Laurie) Marx, and a devoted grandfather to Camden Marx and Brady Marx. Marvin’s family was his greatest joy, and he never missed an opportunity to show how deeply he cared for them.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lorraine Marx, and his older brother, Gary Marx.

In addition to his immediate family, Marvin leaves behind several extended family members and close friends who will carry on his legacy. He also had a special bond with his loyal dog, Shiloh, who brought him daily companionship and happiness. He will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and his ability to make everyone feel like family.

Marvin’s life was one of service, love, and dedication, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family invites all who wish to celebrate his life to join them for services to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 865, Chautauqua County Humane Society, and/or UPMC Hamot Kidney Clinic in honor of Marvin.

Rest in peace, Marvin. Your love, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
