Brenda J. Richardson, 63, of Dunkirk, formerly of Jamestown and Buffalo, passed away May 11, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. Born on Jan. 18, 1961, daughter of the late Ernest and Phyllis (Clees) Richardson.
Brenda graduated from Forestville High School in 1979, later earning her degree from Jamestown Community College in 1981. She took her passion for caring for others to a higher level of expertise by completing her education at Millard Fillmore School of Nursing in 1987.
Brenda dedicated many years of her career to nursing, working tirelessly in various healthcare facilities, which included Episcopal General Home Care, the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York, and as an IMCU nurse at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital. Her commitment to the well-being of her patients was evident in every aspect of her care, reflecting her smart, sweet, and soft-spoken nature.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Brenda was a devoted animal lover with an enthusiasm for old movies and TV shows, particularly enjoying the classic films of Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Her interests also included being an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Sabres, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays. She found joy in needlework, Diamond Dots, and reading, and music was a significant part of her life. Brenda was a lifelong fan of the Eagles and attended several of their concerts over the years, as well as enjoying the music of Def Leppard.
Memberships include the VFW 1017 Dunkirk Auxiliary where she once served as the Treasurer.
Surviving Brenda includes her sister Sandy (late Denis) Germano, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded by her siblings Brad Richardson, and Debbie Richardson.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 12-3 p.m. at the Dom Polski Club; 179 Lake Shore Drive Eeast, Dunkirk, NY. Arrangements by McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY. Interment in private.
